Opening for Tracy Lawrence

Sooner or later I'm going to write a post about all the cool things I've been blessed to do over my years as a semi-professional singer but for now I'm going to tell you about Tracy Lawrence. When I was 21-ish, I had the opportunity to open for Tracy Lawrence in Valdosta, Georgia at the Wild Adventures Theme Park. It was only my second time opening for any major act so it was very cool to me. When a good friend of mine emailed me a couple months ago and asked me if I would like to open for him again, this time in Lake City, Florida I was stoked.

So, on February 8, 2013, I opened for Tracy Lawrence for a second time. It was a sold out show at Florida Gateway College and it was a great show. Tracy Lawrence has an amazing voice and his songs all have stood the test of time and are still great songs.

Steinhatchee Fiddler Crab Festival

This past weekend I performed at the Fiddler Crab Festival in Steinhatchee, Florida on Friday night and Saturday night. On Saturday afternoon, I served as the emcee for the Suwannee River Jam Auditions for First Street Music. We had a great time (even if it was a bit chilly) and heard some amazing singers and bands. The Suwannee River Jam is a music festival held every summer in Live Oak, Florida. Nashville Spotlight End of Summer Bash

Tonight, I had so much fun co-hosting and singing at Nashville Spotlight's End of Summer Bash at the Jacksonville Landing. The bash hosted 79 performers singing throughout the two day event. Thanks to Mike Jennings and Nashville Spotlight for having me. The hosts for Sunday were Kyleigh Hill and Bethany Meeks (pictured with me below). Amazing singers and all around sweet young ladies.

Suwannee Valley Flood Jam

This weekend there was an amazing benefit at the Suwannee River Music Park in Live Oak. The Suwannee Valley Flood Jam was a benefit concert with dozens of singers and bands to raise money for the victims of flooding the counties of Suwannee, Columbia, and Hamilton as these counties were hit hard by Tropical Storm Debby. I was pleasure to sing and emcee the events held on the First Street Music stage for most of the day on Saturday. Special thanks to Steve Briscoe and First Street Music in Lake City for allowing me to be a part of their team.

Jacksonville Suns National Anthem

The best phone call is when someone calls to ask me to sing the National Anthem and it's even better when it's the hometown baseball team, the Jacksonville Suns. I had the pleasure today of not only singing the Anthem but also of meeting this sweet boy that threw out the first pitch.
